Populations Impacted
Our HP project has focused on two distinct but related populations.  First our HP grant has helped to revolutionize GE182 which is a content course for future teachers.  The 2nd is that as a part of our outreach efforts we have improved our ability to provide inner city students with access to cutting edge technology while they do science.  The GE182 class had 152 students enrolled in the course this past year and the HP tablets were used during their regular laboratory sections.  The Tablets were also used as a part of our summer program for high school students and during the academic year.  We had 52 students attend the summer program and we have used the tablets in several schools (see demographic and quick facts section).  We have collected data from each of the populations in regard to the impact of using the HP technologies.

High School
We have used our HP tablets with two sets of high school populations.  The first was our summer outreach program.  During that program we had 52 students participate and this year (summer 2008) we have accepted 86 students into the program.  All of these students are from populations that are underrepresented in the sciences (i.e. African-American, Hispanic, etc...). We have also used the tablets in K-12 schools.  In particular, we have had eight schools use the tablets to implement the curriculum we have developed. In total the HP tablets that we received as a part of our grant has directly impacted 763 students.
